My family would wait patiently and tense until the filming is done so that they can start munching the food I'm photographing. Lately I find myself watching other people shoot delicious dishes, as I do it before.

Simple settings and props

The first thing is to do what you want to decide on the image. Reduce some other effects to the stage to the center of attention to detail, click on the highlight.

If it's the swirl of chocolate surreptitiousness view you want, then let the chocolate take the frame. Move back a little if it would be the table that it is in the picture function, you do not want the attention placed on making the curve of the chair or the beautiful napkin.

It is only normal that courts, flat wares, flowers, linen included in the intake of food. It is not just right, all this disorder belong within the framework, if your goal is to concentrate on the food.

It's a good idea to arrange the table nicely, because this is where the food is placed, but if it is done too, or be decorated, you fail, put the focus on the food.

Shooting Angle

The right angle in shooting the food is one of the important details you need to remember when shooting. Most of the time food photos are taken at 45 degrees below the plate. This angle is very ideal because it has the same angle of people when they see the food and eat.

This is what I do, shoot 45 degrees, but it is always better to explore more. You may also find other angles that are so good.

There are foods that are best taken on the side of the bowl. The staple foods are best photographed from the side to emphasize the amount of food, like pancakes dripping with syrup on the side. A sense of movement is achieved when you tilt the camera a little.

I've used these recordings many times with casting or how-tos in the kitchen.

If the food looks too flat and graphic want to shoot from directly above. Foods such as biscuits are best photographed in this way flat and the novel.

There are times when getting to photograph the food to be very close to the real focus should be. Focus A great shots means that you have the right focus, but if you put the lens too close to the plate, you will create a blur image.

Set the camera to macro mode if you have a point - and - shoot. . It is important to know all the functions of the camera is able to use them effectively and correctly, as the limits of the lens. Familiarize yourself with the focal length of your lenses with the digital SLR camera. Sometimes you get a blurry image if you try to fill the entire frame.

In shooting the uneven and soft shapes of foods, it is better to use the manual focus as the auto-focus, which is not really effective when it comes to this type of food.

Lighting

Another very important factor in coming up with great pictures, the lighting, of course.

Minimal lighting is always there to bring the natural beauty of the main theme. The minimal lighting also helps in hiding the items in the background, not as attractive. The difference between the use of side and black with a flash of light and the front has come the natural color and shape of the image. The image is flat and lifeless when the flash is used.

The best light is to use natural light when photographing food, the food near the window and use the natural light. If the light from the window to feel light, cover it with a cloth, or search for a different window that is not too bright.

You may need to leave a small amount of bounce light from the subject, so you do not end up with a silhouette image when all you have is the light from the side and back. better you can drape a white napkin on a glass or polystyrene. Place it between the subject and the camera, but from the context.

Use a tripod

It is always best to use a tripod to capture the right angle and focus the camera on the main subject. It keeps the camera from shaking. Increase the ISO of the camera, if you do not have a tripod for you to be able to hold the camera securely.

White Balance

One of the most common and biggest problems novice photographers face is cast. This actually very easy to solve. Set the white balance in the camera or even better with the yellow glow for a few pictures. Change the automatic white balance to one of the situational settings in your camera as cloudy or sunny day.

You can select the manual white balance if you want. You shoot things with neutral colors like a white napkin or the gray floor, then set the camera tom white balance while focusing on the same topics. In this way you will know when you are a neutral color in every shot.

Product image set-up

Apart from lighting, is the place where to shoot, instead of the product is so important. Looking for a perfect location in your home or outdoors, where the natural light comes in to when you want to shoot inside the house, set up the table you use, where the light strikes the subject as close to the window or is near an open door.

Lined with a white sheet of paper, place the vase in a translucent container. Align the "Studio" on the porch and get a tripod.

Set-up preparations

You do not want the product that you have dirty and dusty, that's the last thing you want would happen. Get a lint-free cloth and wipe it. Thorough washing or polishing is everything you need to look perfectly on the image.

Everything about the topic should be complementary and together, especially with the product. If the product has a bright color, is the backdrop in his dark color. If the color of the product is dark, the background should be lighter in color. If you want to use fabric for your background, make sure it is properly installed without wrinkles and creases, if you do not look like that are driving it.

With artificial light

When shooting product photos, it is very necessary to get a good look at lighting, with a properly labeled product, clearly and without blur and with complete details. You can continue to artificial lighting and come with a perfect product photo. Improve it by the natural light in, in order to improve the photo.

It's not a good idea to use the inbuilt digital flash, because the dark areas and uneven lighting is used on the product.

The flash of the camera can create ugly shadows on the sides of the product. It may also cover some areas in the picture or go unnoticed and with little detail.

If you do not turn off the flash on your camera to a box or other object on the flash, it can cover stick.

"White light" light bulbs are designed to produce light doors. So, if you do not have lighting facilities and plan to make several product lines, photos, use the "white light" light bulb. Think you always remember to change the white balance setting any kind of artificial light, which you use to illuminate the products.

To avoid mistakes, a few test shots can thus make necessary adjustments to the settings on the camera and changes to the light. The light must not beat the product for unwanted shadows they created.

You have the option of the camera by hand to keep quiet and achieve best results when your camera has image stabilization at lower shutter speeds. Use a tripod if the light is something you do not with a shutter speed of 1/60th of a second and a fast shutter speed indicator lights may have.

Not all cameras with bulb settings can trigger remote control. I've been trying to get a rubber band around the trigger control longer exposure time. I put the cap on the lens before the shutter opens, and then I removed it to start the exposure. Once the exposure was finished, I put the cap back on the lens and take out the rubber band.

You can also try using a small timer like I did, preset timer to the desired duration of exposure. Let both the timer and start the opening of the shutter at the same time. You will know when the exposure is over, that's when the timer beeps. This is superior than counting in your head.
